Warren Grove Fire Video
I pieced together some video I shot and uploaded to Google. Nothing spectacular, but shows how close it came. The first two shots are out at the range right after it started, the rest is from my roof at different times during the day.

The winds have fanned the flames again and I can see smoke on the other side of me now...

This is about 3.5 miles south from my house on route 539 at around 6 PM yesterday the 17th of May. I was there filming the original fire still burning to the west when the wind changed with the incoming low front and rain.

You can see the wind change direction from southeast to west in the sequence along the bottom. As this happened, smoldering embers on the other side of the road to the east caught fire and literally erupted. When I pulled up and stopped there was absolutley no fire to the east. So in a matter of 90 seconds this erupted in several different spots. I turned around to see this.

You can see the smoke is just rising from the initial combustion as I begin to film. As I turn around towards the end of the video you can see the original fire I was filming, which now seems tiny in comparison. Google really kills the video quality...

Luckily the same front that caused the wind change brought rain and these fires were out in about two hours. All the fires are out now.
Today, I took the dogs to Mordor.

Those are some bright flames
