$#@!$ Punk Buster

Post by [JiF]AlbieDamned »

I've been getting kicked all day long by PunkBuster. It gives me the message "This PB Server Requires (A1375 C1.294) - Error loading pbag". I've downloaded and run pbsetup.exe, to no avail. And I do have the file "wc001294.htm" in my pb\htm directory, which appears to be what it's looking for. Anyone have any ideas?

Here's the full list of files in my pb\htm directory:

la001375.htm
lc001294.htm
ma001375.htm
mc001294.htm
wa001365.htm
wa001375.htm
wc001280.htm
wc001294.htm
ws001266.htm

I assume the first letter is linux/mac/windows. I'm not sure what the second letter (a/c/s) means. Maybe c and s and client and server?

Ok, I think I fixed it. I tried to delete the entire pb directory, so that I could get a fresh install with pbsetup.exe. But it wouldn't let me delete cause pbag.dll was in use. It turns out I had a process that didn't shut down. The process was named "~e" something. I killed the process in Task Manager, then I was able to delete the pb directory and run pbsetup.exe. But that was probably unnecessary, cause I'm guessing the runaway process was the real problem. What a pain in the butt.
