Anyone still playing Star Wars The Old Republic?

Post by [JiF]Uncle Stinky »

I am starting to get the itch to play something new. BF3 is starting to feel the same, and getting spawn killed 6 or 7 times in a row last night on two different servers didn't help. I almost finished Skyrim, but lost my saved game file in my computer swtich, so will let the experience cool a while before starting over from scratch.

So are some of you still playing SWTOR? I thought I might give it a try, especially if there's the chance to group up with some Jiffers.

OK, I made a Smuggler last night on Shadow Hand named Abestinky (he kind of looks like a green-skinned Abe Lincoln). Gunslinger specialization sounds cool. I was on for about only 5 minutes and am still getting my bearings. There's no tutorial?

I still play as well. I'm on the Shadow Hand server as well, I've been playing my Sage mostly, name is Andre'l (I think!) I haven't played in a little over a week cause I've been so busy with other stuff. Hoping to play again this week. I will add you to my friends list as well. :)

You're gonna enjoy it! It's a great game.

Pop - you were telling me the other night to choose a particular crafting type. Which was it?

I got up to level 11 last night and have left that first planet (before leaving I did blow away that chick who killed Didoo - it was worth the extra darkness points to avenge a fellow "person of size.").

I am now thinking of choosing the Scoundrel Smuggler specialty so I can use shotguns. No real research on this - I just think shotguns sound cooler than duel-wielding pistols. :shoot:

The shotguns have like a 4 yard range. I started a Scoundrel but got bored with him by lvl 13. Just wasn't the play style I wanted. I'm not saying they're bad, I just wasn't crazy about how they are played. I started up another Sage after that char and have never played the Scoundrel again. I think the Gunslinger would have been the better choice, but I wanted to heal. I did play a Sniper on the Imperial side and had a blast with him, I think the Gunslinger is the republic equivalent. Do some research though! Once you choose you can't change!

Well, I definitely want to remain a ranged damage-dealer, so I went Gunslinger/Dirty Fighting. And I chose the three crafting skills that I imagine 90% of first time players took: Slicing, Scavenging and Armstech.

I'm kind of getting tired of Corso - hopefully I'll get a Wookie or hot-looking female companion soon. Or a hot-looking Wookie. :viva:

I'm up to level 13 now. Love the attack where you kick the other guy in the nerts. Stuns the guy (well duh!) for 5 seconds.

Well, no wonder I kept getting my butt kicked on that Hutt planet (Nar Shadaa?) - I had compeltely skipped Taris, where you are supposed to go after the first planet. D'oh!

So I've gone back to Taris and am having a much easier time of it. Just hit 21, can't wait to get my speeder at 25.
