Agreed. Not sure what is the most important takeaway. At first I'm inclined to be angry at the plane designers, and say that even if it's fly-by-wire, you still need to have feedback on the yoke when pressure is being applied by another pilot (hell, simple computer joysticks come with force feedback...). But maybe the biggest thing is to never leave life or death responsibility with someone that doesn't have the most experience in the group. I can understand the captain wanting to train the new guy up and build confidence, but some things you can't rush and gaining that experience over time is what all pilots have to go through.
