Accepting people to the JiF Platoon

I received our first non JiF'er request to join our BF3 platoon. I am unsure on how we should proceed with people who want to join....do we just accept requests? or point them to http://www.jiff.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; first?

What's the deal with Platoon's anyway? how do they work?

it's kind of a battlelog place where you can have your clan join together. EA/Dice appear to be trying the whole "facebook" thing with the battlelog. you can be apart of different platoons, fan a platoon, etc. really has no effect on the gameplay, but it is a place where you can see how your friends are doing in a common spot.

How about not accepting it but saying for them to click on it to be a fan and tell them to check out the JiF site and introduce themselves. Maybe there could be a kind of form letter to send back when people do that explaining what kind of gaming we play, history, how to apply to the clan, what the rules are, that playing on a JiF server means you get quality/fair/fun game playing...etc.

I think that the wearing of the JiF tag should follow the same process that has always been and has worked well, that's my 5c worth anyway

I just figured out the battlelog thing. I signed up for the PS3 JiF platoon. handle is bad-mojo_johnson. I wanted to get the PC version but it would required an upgrade to win 7 and a $350 video card at least to run normal. happy holidays to all the nutz

OK, BF3 is loading now. I'm on Origin as EngTissueman. I'll get TS set up and perhaps look for you all later. I plan to try some singleplayer to get acclimated a bit this afternoon if all goes well.
