Phishing Scam with PayPal

Post by [JiF]KellysHero »

Got this in an email today...it looked rather official and while knowing it was a scam, I still clicked on the link...you'd think they'd use a better web address to hide the scam. Oh, did fill out the form, populated it with some very choice, non-JiF approved words. If enough people sent in false info, it could really throw a wrench in their system...fake names, account #'s, etc...

I wouldn't advise responding to those. What they do is have a list of Emails that they bought off someone, then they put it in categories of responders and non-responders. Then they resell the emails as responders. So in other words even though you didn't give them the information that they wanted and all that ( you probably made the reader blush though  ) your email might end up being resold, then more and more scams in your mailbox.

Never ever respond to fake emails! The best thing to do is just imagine reaching in your computer and making the sender very very unpretty.

Good point about responding to a scammers email. Although I just clicked on the link they provided, so unless the link was linked to my email then they probably don't know that it was a valid email address.
