Re: Air Combat Manoeuvres
Hey Shell, given your avatar, you might be interested in a solitaie board game coming out soon called Toe-toToe Nu'klr Combat with the Roosikes, from Victory Point Games. The game's description is below.
Here is the site to pre-order:
http://victorypointgames.com/details.ph ... &keywords=
The “Go Code” has been received and the war plan decoded; it is time to turn your B-52 into Soviet air space, and head for your primary target. You’ve got 50,000 lbs. of fuel, two H-bombs, a crew looking to you for leadership, and a mission that your country needs you to fulfill.
Toe-to-Toe Nu’klr Combat with the Rooskies is a fast-playing solitaire game. You decide the payload, pick your targets and must then challenge the Soviet Union's defenses.
SAMs (surface-to-air missiles) and MiG-21 fighter/ interceptors will find you as you cross “The Big Board.” Events will relentlessly dog you and your crew as the fate of America, even the world, rests on your shoulders. A single mission can be accomplished in about 15 minutes, or take an hour for the whole campaign game. Take a darkly humorous trip in a less-than-serious game exploding with atomic fun.

Hey thanks Stinky,
Well, boys, we got three engines out, we got more holes in us than a horse trader's mule, the radio is gone and we're leaking fuel and if we was flying any lower why we'd need sleigh bells on this thing... but we got one little budge on them Rooskies. At this height why they might harpoon us but they dang sure ain't gonna spot us on no radar screen!

Re: Air Combat Manoeuvres
Hey Cowhide , thanks for these gems. Yes I have seen them before on the History channel but I never get tired of watching them , they are great! Just seeing these again has got me itching to get onto the battlefield but I have been so busy lately and have been ill for the last couple of weeks but I will be back soon.
Re: Air Combat Manoeuvres
I have been wondering where you've been Shell. I hope you'r feeling better soon and it'sit's nothing serious bud!
I will have to check out the book. BTW, check out what a high/low-g yo-yo manuver is in the book. I use it most of the time.

Re: Air Combat Manoeuvres
Hi Gib, nothing too serious , for the last couple of weeks I have had this awful chest infection which has left me short of breath and quiet weak. I hope to be back in action soon though.
Yeh , those Yo-yos are in the book and many more neat tricks. The book covers lots of manoeuvres and also lots of good advice about spatial awareness and good planning. The book is beautifully illustrated and there are also very interesting details about many aircraft and interesting accounts from fighter aces. I think you would love the book and even you may learn something from it hehe.
