Labor Day Weekend 2009

[[JiF]major confusion]

This weekend is bittersweet. I am currently 50 years old & because of my back issues & surgery, this is the first summer since 1970 that I have not made a weekend trip to my parents cottage in upper Michigan. This Fall will also be the first time since I was 14 years old that I will not be able to go hunting.
But you know what?
Even though my whole family is at the cottage this weekend, this is the first couple of days that I am totally pain free since the first of May. I still have about another 9 weeks of having to wear my back brace.
But as long as my feet touch the floor getting out of bed every morning, I am tickled to death.
My wife, who is absolutely wonderful, goes totally out of her way to keep me nice and comfortable. GOD BLESS HER!
Plus I've lost 55 pounds since the first of June.

Life is GOOD!
And I wish all of my [JiF]brothers a GREAT & SAFE weekend!

Glad to hear that the pain is going, that must be a real blessing.
Sounds like you have a diamond of a wife there. You'll have to be real good to her when you are eventually back up & running fully.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
I think I'm close to being able to sit at the computer and play. Unfortunately I can only sit for 30 minutes at a time.
All my forum stuff is done on a small laptop that does not have much on it.
