A little server advice...

Well, if you dont believe my advice will rank your server up, go read through some of the semi-old thread's at MoonGamers....I am the reason they behold the #1 server.

Here is the advice:

1.) Remove custom map monday...I dont mean remove them all together, but make sure you remove custom maps as all day things. This is getting no where, except having people decide they do not want to join the server if they can not get in for a full day.

2.) Add all the maps to rotation....???What is the point of having 25 maps, when you can have all 36 maps?

***The custom maps had dropped the amount of people that played on the server, and Tuesday-Thursday it was pretty quiet because of it. Friday-Sunday it started picking up again, and then....well...behold...Almighty Monday with its maps that empty the server and piss people off.

So really...take the damn custom maps off.

Just curious but who cares about server rankings and why? (I have never bothered about it.)

Do the server get anything if were ranked 1st? If not, then it's not so important. I like the CMM, so we should keep it. But all the 36 maps could be ok.

It's probably true that CMM does hurt attendance on the server.
Some people think it is a hassle to download more maps.
I do like the idea of having all maps run.

I like CMM,it's not the same old thing.

Custom maps are loaded onto the server for the benefit of JiF and those server regulars that enjoy them.

I've got to say that I don't really like your tone here, if the maps upset you that much then play elsewhere, but do not come to these forums and give us attitude about our server without good reason.

Zoug hit the nail on the head. CMM's are for the players in JiF and anyone else that wants to play on our server. Sure we'd like to see our server ranked at #1, and we know that CMM's hurt our rank, but like individual player stats..it's neat to look at but we don't really care. We just wanna have fun.

I'm happy to see so many posts that mirror this feeling. Great group here.

Our server is too unique (with it's rules designed to enhance the fun aspect and good sportsmanship) to be ranked #1 anyway alongside the more regulated and standardized servers. CMM is part of what makes us unique, and although Mondays may not be the busiest day, it's a lot of fun, which is what we're about.

I don't know what you base your facts on here, Doom, all servers start the week off quietly and get progressively busier as the weekend approaches. I can't see how CMM affects the attendance figures from Tuesday onwards.

Of course everyone here is going to love custom maps, because your the ones who play in there every week.

I'm sorry, did I call your clan "Just to be #1", which makes no sense at all.

and i have one server in top 40, one in top 60 (100 days up) and two new one's going up today.

I also had one up for 3 months and was able to get it in the 70s or 60s

Oooh... You are all getting upset I said custom maps drops the attendance...When you first switched to 32 slots you were getting it full...and when it was 24 it was getting full....now you may get more than 20 for a map.


And if you dont believe me that the # of players in the server increases as the week goes on, just look, i have been looking every once in a while and it is the same thing every week.

I also dont see the point in getting pissy just because you would hate to be #1, which is impossible with 32 slots. So its obviously not what i was trying to accomplish...

Servers are ranked???

I'm sorry, I was just looking for a fun place to play.
Must explain why JiF is my only fav.
I've tried a couple times to load the custom maps but never was able to make it work, so on Mondays I just play single player.
No biggie. I can only play in the mornings before work. I rarely have time to play at nights or on the weekends.

So put me down as a "non-Jiffer, could go both ways on CMM & never will be good enough to care about ranking" kind of guy.
