Can you say bad idea ?

Post by Sir Die-a-lot »

A FedEx pilot decided last week to take a shortcut and ignore the path that had been de-iced and covered with abrasive on the taxiways and ended up in the ditch here at the Montreal airport. It was a slow slide and only the nose wheel and right engine cowling sustained damage.

Here are 2 pics of the Airbus A-310 with a nose in snow. The funniest part is that another FedEx pilot with an ATR-42 followed the same path 10 minutes before and also got stuck in the ditch but due to the type of airplane was able to get out of there by its own means. It took a full 5 hours to get the Airbus outta that hole.

Can you bet that this pilot will get red ears in the coming weeks !

Bad idea, no doubt. I don't even want to imagine how those FedEx guys behave while in the air - in case they leave the ground...

If it was DHL the plane would have had to do a belly-slide landing and the contents would have gotten damaged not to mention that it was the wrong airport for the delivery anyhow. Are they in business anymore.. DHL? Their contracts were ended for breach where I work.

They are still doing transportation and stuff, not only here in Germany but international. They don't seem to have a good reputation in the area you live in... ;) I've already recieved and sent some parcels via DHL, never had anything to complain however.
