NaNoWriMo - 2008 !
National Novel Writing Month has started 16.5 hours ago !
http://www.nanowrimo.org/
The goal: Write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days.
I failed last years event and I'm trying again with a different storyline. The one I used last time I'm keeping to write about another time when I'm not rushed to generate a 50,000+ word novel
Last year's thread was located here: http://jiff.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1119&p=12067

Re: NaNoWriMo - 2008 !
Ended the second day with 3,728 words. Under the mark for the day but still above the mark for the weekend. Need to write an average of 1,667 words a day to hit 50,000 words by the end of the month.
You guys should try this, it's pretty fun.

I'm game. Say Rhykin, after we finish, should we put links here and have JiF judge too? Could be fun

The NaNoWriMo challenge is to just complete it. They don't read it though, since it would be daunting for them to read the ~16,000 finished novels at the end. It's more of a personal challenge. However, this is an awesome incentive: https://www.createspace.com/nanowrimo
Whats the link to your profile on the NaNoWriMo website? (If you were able to get through to register)

Re: NaNoWriMo - 2008 !
Updating again, mostly because I think it's fun..
Ended today at 5,546 words and 11.1% complete, with a gain of 1,763 words for today (slightly above average needed for a day)..
Not sure how much time I will have tomorrow to write, but I should have significantly more on Wednesday.. I'll need the weekend to catch up.. but so far on track.

Ah yes a worthy pursuit to be a literary master, would've liked to have had a career as such but I stink LOL!!!
Anyway good luck to you Rhykin, hope you pull it out this time!

Update...
I have a concept! And no words. Red Alert 3 is totally consuming my free time. So, I shall do what I always did in High School: wait till the night before, stay up all night writing, and send it in the morning. Then sleep ^_^

Re: NaNoWriMo - 2008 !
Ended at 7,436 words for today (14.9% complete) at the end of day 5.
Gaining 1,714 words today (need to get avg of 1667 to survive) so I haven't regained much of my lose on election day. I'm now only 898 words behind where I should be at the moment (should be at 8,334 if I kept on pace).
I already beat my last years word count of approximately 6,500.
