I would like to watch it, but I think I will wait for it on the History Channel. But I am cheap like that.
I have decided to produce and sell a strong alcoholic drink called "Responsibly".
That way everyone in the country can get wasted drinking Responsibly.
And all the other drinks makers will be advertising for me on their cans with the slogan "please drink Responsibly".
Probably will annoy the government as well.

Considering it was made in the early 70's I am surprised it still airs, but it does. It runs every now & then on one of our History Channels. I guess that is a testament to how good a collection it is.
Can't say I've ever got into watching the whole thing as it is a mammoth series.

I felt pretty loose with my money about 10 years ago when I bought it. If you are a WWII enthousiast, at that price it is well worth having. And it doesnt't take much more time to watch than going through all the episodes of Band of brothers

World at War is one of THE definitive histories of WWII, there is tons of stuff in it that you will never haveheard of.
they interview all kind of people, old SS commanders, communist partisans, Resistance members, SOE/OSS operatives, ordinary civilians.
I have watched the whole series about 3 times, we even used to watch it in History lessons at my secondary school.
I would definitely recommend buying it, I have it on VHS ( )

Some kind of historic technology. Appeared around the same time as A-tracks and dinosaurs

It is a fantastic series, well worth buying, shop around though. Ebay often have them at reasonable prices (so does Amazon Marketplace for that matter)

I agree it is probably the most factual, comprehensive and least biased documentary on WWII there is, orignally a TV series I always remember the opening titles with the burning photographs.

The version you linked to is a fraction of the price of the full series ( 11 DVDs) so I would suspect it is not complete or they have compressed the series tighter.

The full version is here with reviews.

In 1973 a fair few of the key surviving participants were around to give interviews - but of course not so now.
