allies stole the axis flag...

Post by [JiF]War Trophy »

I loved that Berlin mod, which I saw for the first time last night, where you steal the opponents flag and then run away like a man possessed while they all chase after you to get it back! It's a vast improvement on the original map, but I'm curious as to what the conditions are for victory? Do you have to steal the flags a certain amount of times? I just know that I had a massive score at the end of the game  thanks to me lying in wait for Mini Rambo every time he stole our flag - he's a bullet magnet for my mp40.

'Bout 95% of the time it seems that game comes out a tie.

Sure is fun though ....THE HORROR!

The game is a timed scenario where the aim is to capture the enemies flag more times than they get yours in that time span.
There are a ton more Capture the Flags on our server, but that is one of the best as it is a mod with all vehicles removed. Stalingrad is another good 1 we have up sometimes, again no vehicles.

I also noticed in that mod that the name tags above our heads can be seen from greater distances, and can be seen through walls and buildings etc. Very handy for a great suburban massacre 8)

This is primarily to track the flag carrier.

Once a flag is "stolen" you will see him as a flashing tag so that you know how to track him down.

pity...guess stealth truely wasnt invented until the the 80's..... ;)

Seems that it is harder to steal Axis flag, because your escape route is open and you can't use any walls to hide much.
Once you steal the Allied flag,if you make it around the corner your just about safe from grenades. :D
I've seen the Axis win way more CTF on Berlin map.
Stalingrad CTF map key seems to be getting the closer spawn point flag captured.
Telemark CTF can be downright awesome!
I wonder if Telemark CTF can be modded with no tanks?

I haven't had the fun of trying this one on the Axis side yet but I would have to agree with you on stealing the Axis flag. However you can work as a team and have somebody hanging back for cover support for when you nab the flag. After the flag is nabbed and the 'nades start flying as you are trying to round that damn corner, whoever is covering the position can nab the dropped flag if the flag runner gets fragged and continue on with the marathon back to base.

The Allied flag location gives you lots of options with regards to intial escape routes that can be used to stall for additional backup and cover from other teammates. However, without additional cover, while being safe from nades you can still get swarmed by the number of allies converging on the remaining escape routes.
I have decided to produce and sell a strong alcoholic drink called "Responsibly".
That way everyone in the country can get wasted drinking Responsibly.
And all the other drinks makers will be advertising for me on their cans with the slogan "please drink Responsibly".
Probably will annoy the government as well.
