Why was I banned??

Hello, I am new to this gaming community, but I was playing Battlefield Secret Weapons online and just after the game switched to a new map, I got a message that I was banned?? Did I do something wrong?? I didn't recieve any warnings?? Was the ban meant for someone else?? Can someone please let me know and if there is anyway I can return to the game server [jif] Public Pot Luck. Thanks

Hi,
I checked the server and you were banned. It expires Friday the 11th at 23:15:18.
It was a ban by and admin, but does not have a reason attached. I will PM him to about it and if he thinks its needed can contact you. It is possible he will not remember why and it is possible he got the wrong guy.
I am glad you came by to find out and are interested enough in our server to want to come back. Good news is you will be back at least by tomorrow

I remember your nick, but to be honest I don't remember, now, why I set the ban. I usually only ban for language or TK (teamkilling) issues. I do remember your nick though. I will remove the 3 day ban early as soon a I get home this afternoon. Any other admin is welcome to release it ASAP if they have time. Please also consider changing your nick to something a bit more appropriate... not that it's not funny! I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but glad that you ended up coming to the forums! Our goal at JiF is to provide a fun and reasonably clean environment for all sorts of people to play.

After someone explained to me what the name probably means changing it would probably be a good thing if you like to play on our server. It was obscure enough to me that I did not notice it. It does fit into the stuff we try to discourage on our server.
We will kick or ban for inappropriate names. Yes, our definition of inappropriate names which does leave it open for interpretation.
Had I known I would have probably asked you in game to change it too.

Thank you guys for lifting the ban. I could only guess that I was mistakenly banned. I dont TK at all unless by accident then I appoligize ammediately. I dont use foul language either, or try not to type it anyways. As for my nickname, I have always used that name and never really had a problem with it? Never had anyone say it was way bad except this one server that was a bunch of Jesus freaks and was all about pushing religion on me. I dont feel that it is bad, I have seen worse on most servers, but if its really that big of a deal to you guys, I will change it. Just let me know if it is that big of a deal. Thanks again!

I think it's humorous, but unfortunately it's just not appropriate for the environment we're trying to encourage. I think I'd asked you to change it, and then banned you when you didn't respond. It wasn't a mistake on my part but it probably was a miscommunication between us. I'm willing to let it ride (unfortunate choice of words I guess), and see if it becomes and issue. I noticed it right away, but then I have a filthy mind. My suggestion is that if it doesn't put you out too much.. go ahead and change it to avoid problems later. Be sure to let us know what your new nick is so we can chat with you in the game!

I just set mulitple profiles for my names. I can just select the profile when I start the game. I think I have 3 profiles with different names I have used. I pretty much have only used one for the longest time now though. One might have been just to get on and check on the admins a long time ago The other was something silly like "a baby seal" so when someone fragged me it would say they killed a baby seal. I pretty much only use my Saunders one now on 1942.

What's funny is I had the first half of the name figured out.

Then I'm scratching my head asking "why on earth would someone do that with apple cider?"

i got banned, im p****** off, when will i be able to go back on?
im geussing i got banned for player abuse or something, but i was having a bad day, my brother was on my computer all morning (dont know what he did on my account but if i find out im gonna kill him, metaphorically of course) and i was having a freindly jest on the internet with some players who obviously were looking for a fight. Lone Wolf then took it the wrong way, kicked me (I understand...) and i went back on and got banned 3 hours later for having a laugh. in fact, the most offensive thing i said, was "you starting? you starting eh? you b******!" that was exactly what i said, and the B word was spelt just like that, with 6 stars instead of "astard". it was meant to be sarcastic, because one of the admins said "he has been like this all day, picking fights with everyone..." (exact quotation).
i then tried to have a freindly match, and i said to myself; "these people dont get your jokes, they are not the people you know, they are probably American and have a completely different humour system to yours...." so i decided to shut up and play. i then got in a B17 on El Alamain and said "i need a bomber crew" 5 seconds later, i was banned. If you have been in this situation, you will understand. all i want to know is this: Will you unban me? and if not, when will the ban be naturally lifted?
