Re: Ditch Surfin
Gawd, some people have too much time on their hands, though it's better that than setting things on fire for fun.

Re: Ditch Surfin
You know what sprang to my mind. I was watching a kids programme with my daughter this morning & it was called "Only in America".
Need I say more.
While on the subject of America, anyone know any places that are a must see in Maine in the summer (also places to avoid).
We are making the trip across the pond again for our summer hols. Starting with friend in Mass, then up the coast of Maine, Across to N. Conway NH & back to my drinking buddy again to finish!
Yee haa roll on the summer.

That is a long way to come for a cold beer
Depending on the month late spring early summer in the woods can be nasty with black flies and the sea coast would be better early in the summer and the season moves north and west from the south coast. I think its July before its safe to go in the woods and not lose a quart of blood I guess a lot depends on what you are looking to do.

Re: Ditch Surfin
I plan to take my SUV & tour some. Like to walk in good scenic areas, swimming is good for the bricks & the trouble likes to see nice scenery (especially so she take pics with her Christmas present) Oh & i like to eat & drink.
By the way cold beer. You call that gassy stuff you guys drink, beer!!! I like a real pint that puts hairs on your chest. Not too cold not too warm. I did find a nice pint at a restaurant on the water at Newburyport last summer, They sold Old Speckled Hen which is brewed about 30 miles from where I live in the UK. I was in heaven, i got the best of both worlds at 1 table.

Re: Ditch Surfin
LOL, I could rebut with something about the warm mud I had in 1976 in Portsmouth, but then we could go on and on
Actually either is okay with me, but being from here I prefer our wimpy beer
I nice ride is along route 1 north on the Maine coast. Then for a beautiful woodland area cut over to Baxter State Park and wind your way down by Mooshead Lake until you can cut over the NH. It would make a real long drive.

Cheers Grimp that's toasting you with a bottle of mud! Tonights brew is called Fiddler's Elbow (Another Oxfordshire brewery).
I plan to stay at least a couple of nights in Maine so distances aren't that much of a problem. Especially with your lovely roads & an SUV with cruise control.
