Haha I was going to say that place you took a picture of doesn't look familiar. It does look like that outside now though

Come to Cincy. A half inch of snow paralyzes the city for days and the supermarkets run out of staples because everyone hoards supplies. My cousin in LA tells me the locals can't drive in the rain. It's like an ice storm out here.

Re: Get Ready Folks!
Watta bunch 'o wussies ! No insult intended, but wussies still !
This is snow
And this is from the 1998 ice storm when some people, including my mom, had no power for 2 to 5 weeks. It rained 3 times in 7 or 10 days, sleet and icing rain. My sister had a foot and a half of solid ice on her front porch. I was living further north than Montreal and we had snow every day for the 10 days. By the end, I couldn't figure where to shove it anymore ! Had to pile it, set it on fire and pile some more !
All joking aside, I can sympatize with anybody caught in a snow (or ice) storm that is not used to it. i for myself thouroughly enjoy them (as long as I don't have to drive long in them). Since the school usually close during the big ones, we make it a family snow day.

Re: Get Ready Folks!
I remember when it snowed here in England once, hmmm now let me see what year was that now!
We don't get much snow these days cos some country called America keep building a greenhouse or something, i forget now.
I did my bit when in Vermont, New Hampshire & Mass this summer. Boy those Dodge Durangos can eat up some gas. I suppose when it's so cheap who cares. I'm paying £1.08 per litre (that's about $8 a gallon to yous American boys)

Re: Get Ready Folks!
Yes we do have buses & trains, but v. expensive & the bus routes can take ages to get anywhere. Oh & if you live in the countryside & need a bus, forget it. It's not profitable so you don't get a service even though you need it more than the townies[JiF]Beezer wrote:Haha they do that around here lots of the time...

Re: Get Ready Folks!
Speaking of gas, I thought it was rather funny that everyone ran out of gas because the traffic was so bad. You think they'd know by now to gas up before a storm so that they'd be all set. I blew close to a 1/4 of tank in traffic yesterday

Yes Badger. Down here in the States our "Moose Pee Snow Mitigation System" has not been as effective as yours. We still have so much to learn![JiF]ALargeWoodenBadger wrote:OMG. LOL, I can see it now, plow trucks filled to the brim with moose urine containers spreading the liquid on the road ways. At least cars would last longer, the salt is terrible!
