Ok I gotta idea, so be afraid LOL!
It's no secret that there are those who'd like to be a member of the [JiF] community and because of regs it's seems to be frustrating to some of the regulars, so here's the idea?
Anyone and everyone that is interested (as far as regulars go) would be able to submit thier call signs to a list of sorts for the hierarchy of the [JiF] elite to tag as [AVG] "All Volunteer Group" with an assigned # according to length of activity or other criteria to determine possible consideration in due time for membership into the [JiF] community.
Now it's not a very consise formula but still an idea all the same, and I'm in no way trying to circumvent the process by which [JiF] has made it's guidelines just merely offering a possible alternative.
So there it is, what do ya think?

Re: Member Hopefuls
I was kind of wondering how these guys suddenly all became JiFs. It looked like a new class had started when i played the other week!!
Even Brick has got the JiF thing.
It is a good tag to wear though, mostly the server is used by a good community. I suppose you can't help the odd bad apple every now & then.
Keep on JiF boys & Flying Tiger.

Re: Member Hopefuls
We don't have a real formal recruiting process. We observe people in game and preferably on TS for quite a while normally before we make an invite. Recently we realized that we really needed to bring some of the regulars into The Jar. I hope you can appreciate that we're trying to bring people in a somewhat controlled manner so they get used to the inner workings. There are a bunch of great players on the server. If you play nice with others and like good sportsmanship and team work then you are probably a good candidate for JiF. In a nutshell (so to speak) it isn't personal if you haven't been invited (unless you are a smack or a dork), we just aren't that organized.

I'm sure if you donate donuts to Grimp he'll let you wear the tag...
You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

Re: Member Hopefuls
Hello All,
Well first off let me just openly apologize to Tissue and the rest of the [JiF] community.
I myself am not looking for induction into the community, I just figured or rather took it upon myself to speak for those whom I play with on an almost nightly basis who wonder about being tagged.
So I will cease with any futher attempts to speak for others I was just trying to be helpful, and as for tags you can all bet I'll be doing plenty of it on the battlefield thats my type of tag LOL!!!
Once again sorry for the thorn!
See ya out there!

Re: Member Hopefuls
Tiss- I thought we voted to do a "Who wants to be a [JiF] Member" reality show? Events would be things like:
1. GeoCaching donuts for Grimp
2. Calling Lt. WB on his office phone and ranting about how good the Pats are
3. Taking large doses of laxatives. (indirectly supports Tissueman)
4. Working the word "Mentatatation" into a description of how you died in BF42 (those who have been here know the silent death that is Mentat)..
5. Successfully guessing how many TK's [JiF]Shuckerow had in his first full gaming season.

An apology is not necessary. You had a concern. Expressed it without calling us idiots and we more or less replied. It doesn't hurt to wake me up once in a while to see if I'm paying attention. It also doesn't hurt to let people know how we do things.Flying Tiger wrote:Well first off let me just openly apologize to Tissue and the rest of the [JiF] community.
As for Beej's suggestion -- I've always tried to avoid reality. I want to be like Grimp when I grow up.

Re: Member Hopefuls
Tiger and other JiF hopefuls... Don't forget that a lot of us guys that are new to the [JiF] tag aren't necessarily new to the server! I can assure you the JiF admins all believe that there we have a great group of regs in the BF server and that's why we want to keep encouraging and almost harassing you all to join the forums and goof off with us so we can get to know everyone better. I know you've seen me harassing people to join.. i'm not shy about it! The process (or lack of) for getting the JiF tag does take a little time because we want to get to know everyone, and like was mentioned before, keep it somewhat managed. I can tell you that we talk a lot behind the scenes, expecially the newer guys, about people on the server that we'd like to see all JiFed up. I think we have a great group dynamic on the server that seems to get better as time passes!
