Re: Battlefield 1943
That's looking promising... BF1943 hmmm
I'm missing you guys playing bf1942.. but vista hates it so have been playing cod5 mostly.
Just got new psu.. upgraded ram to 3gb and got a Asus Radeon HD 3850x2 1gb (damn its big) Had to dremel my hdd bays to fit it in. gets a little hot at times due to the small case mATX
Hopefully wont have to upgrade anymore for some time..

Sounds promising. I'd prefer that round-based, though: Anyone ever played Worms?[JiF]Lonewolf-McQuade wrote: (...) and the destructible environment is really fun to play because you can get inventive. Sweeeee!

Now, now, now ! Don't be so mean to Mister Gates.[JiF]{zs}wids67 wrote:I'm missing you guys playing bf1942.. but vista hates it so have been playing cod5 mostly.
My Vista loves BF1942, so I'm happy I don't have to resort to second rate FPS like CoD 5

Here's a recent vid from NY Comic-Con 09: You may want to reconsider your expectations for this.

3 maps and a 24 player cap??? on PC?? LMAO!
Unlimited ammo...roflmao. And don't forget that special request of "parachutes" have been added-
Yes my hopes have been shattered a wee bit. Looks good but...

Wake looks great! That new engine really adds better detail to the maps. From what I've seen in BadCompany it'll make the fighting more challenging and fun. You can hideout in shrubber/grass and snipe/ etc... The graphics look sharp too. Remember this is only supposed to be a taste to lure peeps to console or build excitement for the PC release of Bad Company. If you're allowed to set the map times a little longer, 3 maps on rotation will be fun for a while, and will probably get old just in time for the new BC release

Re: Battlefield 1943
Ya it does look good no doubt but some of the details spewing from Comic-con are not flattering for the PC.
I mean a 24 player cap, 3 maps and unlimited ammo is really a slap in the face for us Battlefield vets.
I tried Bad Company multiplayer demo on the 360 and it was a nightmare with the controller. I was really crying for
a keyboard and mouse. So if they are teasing to port that over to PC that will be wicked. I loved the engine and
style of the game.

Look how long the JiF server had 24 slots.
The 24 limit is okay with me.

I"m guessing they'll uncap it/up it for the PC side in the end.

Unlimited ammo isn't a bad thing I don't think. They aren't saying you'll never have to reload, just you won't have to find a box to get more clips. It's actually one of things I really dislike about 42, it's not often I run outta ammo before I'm killed, so when it happens it's a special thing..but I always die when I am out! lol I can't wait, I never tried BC on the 360 although I did get it through GameFly, my son said it was cool. Will definitely give it a go on the pc though.

Re: Battlefield 1943
The only thing about unlimited ammo is that it means unlimited 'nades.
I can just see some tards nade spamming to their hearts content knowing that they are not going to run out & not threfore having to choose when to chuck & when to hold on.
Good idea for the clips though, especially for those chaps like Zouga who like to bed down in sniper spot. If they only get 15 shots in a gun they have to run off & get some more exposing themselves to the perils of infantry.
It does look good from the trailer though, from the official site with not much on it http://www.battlefield1943.com/

you could edit it..[JiF]LtWaterboy wrote:BTW...
Both sites (BF1942 & BF:BC2) said there WILL be PC versions.
Both, of course, will be the last ones out (more than likely).

Re: Battlefield 1943
I feel your pain, Cesar. Lt Gunray and I have Battlefield 2 and Vietnam, but our laptops just couldn't handle them. Always crashing and when they did work, it was like watching molasses in the winter time. Luckily, 1942 works fairly well.
About a week ago, though, Gunray got the big computer we have working, so he's been sucked back into BF2

Re: Battlefield 1943
Eventually guys, like me, you will have to come to the conclusion that you will have to "let go & move on".
I just happened to come to grips sooner than later...
Eventually BF1942 = BETA VCR = Vinyl Record = Hula Hoop = Windows XP......
Bring on 1943!!!!
