I got promoted!

Well, sort of.
I'm a member of Connecticut One Disaster Medical Assistance Team over two years now. The call went out last month that they were looking for Logistics Section Deputy Chiefs and EMS Team supervisors. So I finally sent an email and said I was interested. I was federalized as a GS-698-07 Environmental Health Technician / Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate Level, no my upgrade is Supply Management GS-2003-11. I'm GS-11 grade pay if deployed (if that means anything to anybody...or cares). I don't know how long it takes for the upgrades to take place but it took almost a year to be federally appointed but that was also under FEMA and now NDMS is under HHS so who knows, still govt. CT-1 has the pilot program for Civilian Mobile Hospital Setup (DRASH). It's all volunteer with Fire, EMS, nurses, doctors and Comms/network guys. Did I mention nurses...I got a COLA raise at work too. Since I'm sharing what I've been up to, I'm clearing land to build our new house, finally! Trying to get a MBA, still studying for CT Professional Engineer Licensing exam and chasing kids around. Been real busy and not much time for the battlefield (plus my DSL has been a real dog lately) but looking forward to get back in the game and maybe see some of you at a LAN or something.
