Dear [JiF]Advisor,

I have a complete collection of plastic drink bottle caps on my desk arranged in a circle in color sequence including black, white and various shades of yellow, orange, red, purple, blue and green. I enjoy looking at the pretty colors and am always on the lookout for new colors to add to my collection. I like to brag about my collection when I meet people, but some people don't seem to appreciate the beauty of my collection. Why are some people so strange?

You need to display them on a nice sheet of foil OR make individual stands out of foil for each cap. We know you have the time... It is often the context that makes the difference. No one ever displays a Faberge' eggs lying on their sides or just lying around. Combining foil and caps might be a venture into mixed media that will impress even the casual observer. Post pics please.

Looks okay to me. I don't know how anyone cannot be impressed by that.
They probably just don't have any appreciation for fine art.

Gee, thank you Mr. Mentat! That photo was taken with an iPhone and emailed to me by a colleague who can't stand not to have the latest toys. We're hoping to get him into treatment someday.

Your collection is impressive! My collection only contains of yellow and white caps...I only drink Mountain Dew in the morning so I will never be able to possess the variety that you display in your photo

A truely dedicated collector would not be stopped. Try Christie's Auction House, Public TV auction or EBay

I think you should try Mentat's suggestion about the foil. Then take another picture and show your wife. I'm sure that will impress her and she will no longer think you're a dork.

You could make her a necklace with them. She would be so proud and probably want to flaunt them everywhere she goes.
