Adobe Photoshop
I have Adobe Photoshop 5.0 at work. I'm looking for something with similar functionality for home use. Recommendations?

Adobe Photoshop 5.0? Everytime I buy a digital camera, it usually comes with a version of Photoshop on it. You might have one already.[JiF][AARP]Tissueman wrote:I have Adobe Photoshop 5.0 at work. I'm looking for something with similar functionality for home use. Recommendations?
You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

GIMP's a very photoshop-esque program.
It's primarily Linux but it does have a Windows version. I haven't tried it on Windows though so I couldn't tell you how it will work out.

Usually the home versions of Photo Shop are pretty wimpy.
Gimp works great for me although there is a learning curve.
I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. If you are just gonna crop and color/brightness adjust any program that comes with a camera would probably be fine.
I use Gimp for messing around cutting things out of one photo and putting them in another.
The mini animations I have made were done with Gimp.
If you just want to adjust pictures for prints you may find Wal-Mart Digital Photo Manager (Fugi) works great.

You can crop, red eye removal, adjust color and brightness. You can then upload them to Wal-Mart or export them.
