Fly-over

Post by [JiF]Stepovich »

So I'm outside yesterday evening getting a little grilling/beer drinking in while the
weather holds up and I hear a very loud noise.... a low flying plane?
I look up and wait for it to appear over the house- to my utter amazement what flies
over? A big beautiful B-17!! My jaw dropped down to my knees. Run to get the wife-
should have known better- "that's nice dear."
I go back outside and hear more rumbling with a different, smoother pitch this
time, and a B-25 Mitchell roars by at twice the speed of the B-17.

Figured out today that there's a small airshow at the Beverly airport-

Goes through tomorrow afternoon if anyone is interested.
We went by and checked things out- They have the B-17, B-25, B-24 Liberator,
AT6-F Texan and what looked like a Russian Yak-11.
Unfortunately, it was too windy for the big bombers to take off, but they were flying
the two smaller planes- the AT6 and the Yak.

I have some pictures, I'll post them if anyone is interested as soon as i figure
out where I can put them.
