So aside from the whos going, whos not going stuff, whats gunna be the game for JiF this year, 2142 or BF2...or a combination of the two? I wanna know what I gotta practice w/ this week before the LAN!
Who knows maybe they will get a kill or two
You should see the talk on the Nor'Easter forums. They are posting game resumes to be on teams
Glad to hear you got someone to come along
I'm guessing they're both going to be popular.
As far as I'm concerned, I'll probably just go with the flow...
wherever the the majority of JiF plays or whatever seems
to be good.
I figured I would play what the majority of the rest of you play. I will be also be roaming around quite abit as I wont be able to set to long and I'll also be doin a story on the LAN for my reviw site.
You must be young and stupid before you can be old and wise.
JiF BF Server.
There are a few openings left for Clan servers. I could bring the JiF BF server for some vanilla play and/or use it for our own TeamSpeak server. Think we should? It might make the other members who are not going a little POed though.
Teams must be pre-registered as a team through the online registration system to complete.
Prior to matches, team captains/representatives of each team must meet with the tournament admin and participate in a coin-toss to select sides and get their round’s password. This person must also keep in contact with tourney admin to assist in keeping the tournament running in a smooth, orderly and timely fashion. Check in with the tourney admin as soon as you arrive at the party.
Maps: We are using 16 player maps with vehicles
Round 1: Kubra Dam – sides are most evenly matched.
Round 2: Gulf of Oman – a little more challenging.
Round 3: Zatar wetlands – you made it this far, it gets more challenging,
Round 4: Mashtuur City – more of a chance to tie, opportunity to stand out.
Round 5: Mutually agreed map between teams, finial decision by tourney admin.

Team Size:
Each team is to fill a minimum of 4 positions and a maximum of 5 positions (final 2 open slots are reserved for admins and shoutcasters). If a team is unable to meet this requirement, the offending team must forfeit. If neither Team is able to fill 4 positions at the start of the match, the match will be nullified unless both teams choose to play the match with less than the number of required players. If either team is able to field 5 players and the opposing team can only field 4 then match will be played with uneven numbers unless the teams agree to even the numbers.
Up to two alternates may also be used in case of unforeseen misfortunes (getting lost while getting lunch, your friends mom decided he can’t go, or similar) Players may play on only one team, no subs from other teams.
Server Crashes:
In the event of a server crash both team leaders should take note of the score, and time remaining on the clock. If the server crashes before 10 minutes we will restart the round, if the server crashes after 10 minutes the last known score will be used to determine a round winner.
If a competitor is disconnected from the server during match play, he may rejoin. The match will not be restarted for less than 50% of one team involuntarily being disconnected.
How You Win:
Game type is Conquest mode. Best of three rounds (if needed), winner of round is determined by the highest total ticket amount.
Ties:
In the event of a tied map (each team has won a single round, or tied on round 1 and/or 2), a third round on the same map will be played. The team that gained the highest amount of tickets totaled from both rounds is allowed to choose which side they would like to play on round 3. If both teams are tied in totaled tickets, a coin toss will be used to choose sides for round 3. If by chance the 3rd round is a tie, the opposite team will be given side choice. Side selection will alternate per tie breaking round until a winner is determined.
Cheating:
Spot checks will be performed on team’s machines if cheating is suspected. If you think someone else may believe something is a cheat, (backing into a wall, out of sight for example, grossly altered video settings, obvious hacks) DO NOT do it.
Teams not in a match at that time, are encouraged to watch other teams players (without bothering them) to police each other.
Mind your language at all times, be respectful, show good sportsmanship. Obnoxious or degrading behavior may get you a dishonorable discharge.
Final decisions on all matters are to be decided by the tournament administrator.
Administrator reserves the right to change anything at any time (due to unforeseen circumstances) All decisions are final, and can not be appealed.
