The idea behind the aluminum-clad Optimus Maximus is pretty cool: each key on the keyboard can change its symbol when, say, you hit the Shift key, run Photoshop, or fire up a keyboard-intensive game like Quake—no more memorizing complex shortcuts or making your game character jump when you wanted him to duck. The keyboard would also be able to switch languages and change to non-QWERTY layouts (such as Dvorak) in the blink of an eye. Of course, manufacturing a keyboard with little 36 x 36-pixel displays on each key isn't easy—or cheap, leading many to wonder whether the Maximus would ever arrive at all.

I dunno Albie maybe if the keys were labled we could figure out how to play ArmA
For standard game keys you pretty much use all the time it would not be helpful, but it would be nice for the lesser used keys.
It would also be nice when switching from BF2142 to BF. Keep in mind us old people.
The W A S D keys won't get warn off. Although the first couple keyboards I wore of those keys I was quite proud of.
I assume you can see them better in the dark when your wife is sleeping and does not want the lights on.
Number one reason: Having a keyboard with changing keys is just cool. Maybe not all that useful but cool just the same

That is exactly why I bought a Logitech G15.[JiF][AARP]Grimp wrote: I assume you can see them better in the dark when your wife is sleeping and does not want the lights on.
THis is good enough for me. I want one too! This has been in the forums before..but a while ago. I thought the target price then was around $500. If it's $1500, that's just way to much for a keyboard, even like this one. Could buy another pc for that much.[JiF][AARP]Grimp wrote: Number one reason: Having a keyboard with changing keys is just cool. Maybe not all that useful but cool just the same
