Perfect Peppermint Patties

Perfect Peppermint Patties
Its not what you think. Its a recipe
Ingredients
1 box /1lb confectionary sugar
3 tbsp. butter
2-3 tsp. Peppermint extract
½ tsp. Vanilla extract
¼ cup evaporated milk
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tbsp. shortening
Directions
Combine confectionary sugar, butter, peppermint extract and vanilla extract in a bowl. Add evaporated milk and mix well.
Roll into 1” balls. Place on waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Chill for 20 minutes.
Flatten balls with a glass. Chill another 30 minutes.
Melt shortening and chocolate chips in a double boiler –or- microwave.
(we use the double boiler method)
Dip patties in chocolate mixture, place on waxed paper lined cookie sheet again and refrigerate to harden – at least 1 hour.

I'm a York P.Pattie addict...
it's much easier to just buy them...and there's no trans-fat from the shortening!
I like to chop them up and add them to the chocolate chip cookie or brownie batter
