Hmmm - Sounds like I'm in the minority, but I quite liked this episode. I'll repeat what I've been saying for a while - Michael Hogan, aka Col Tigh, is the best actor on the show.
I'm not sure what's up with that song that some of the characters keep hearing. Besides Tigh, I think the other people who heard it were Anders and the president's assistant (I forget her name). I'm sure it ties in to the Cylons somehow. The obvious guess is that they are members of the final 5. It would explain why Deanna said "I'm so sorry" after seeing one of the final 5. If it was Tigh, then she would have been apologizing for torturing him on New Caprica.

Baltar and why he's found not guilty...his new lawyer....Denny Crane!
Some quotes from this weeks upcoming episode, leading up to and from the trial...
''Apollo, you know, one thing you sometimes forget is, no matter how hard your day, no matter how tough your choices, how complex your ethical decisions -- you always get to choose what you want for lunch.''
''I have an erection. That's a good sign. I'm ready to go to trial. Lock and load.''
''Last name: Crane. First name: Denny. Not guilty. Over and out.''
''Waive reading Judge. And ask that these ridiculous charges be dismissed on the grounds of ridiculousness.''
''There you go again. Always looking for a point.'''
'Never lost. Never will.''

Are the others really cylons? Starbuck is really alive? They definitely threw in some twists. Okay, looks like the writers finally hit their stride, but they need till 2008 to keep going? How do you take at least a 9 month hiatus and still expect people to continue to watch. It's not like BSG is the Soprano's.

ok i was flippin around and caught part where evidently chief, the president's assistant, pretty boy, and col. alcoholic all went into the gym and they're cylons. then apollo sees starbuck in the Oort cloud (i like that word and never have the opportunity to use it) I think starbuck is a ghost/angel because her ship was all clean, she was all lighted like an angel and she kept saying everything would be alright... and if you remember the original, I thought apollo and starbuck went scouting for earth and were lost for a long time. I don't know... give me a rerun of SG-1 or even enterprise because that's less painful than a new episode of galactica

Yes Dave, I remember that story from the original BSG well. And I also thought they might be drawing from it last night. Once again, I guess I'm in the minority, but I thought the season finale was very good. I won't say excellent, because Apollo's long soliloquy during the trial was ridiculous. But other than that, it definitely left me wanting more.

This season was pretty tough to watch, but they wrapped it up well and did leave you wanting more. Granted 2008 though...[JiF]AlbieDamned wrote:Yes Dave, I remember that story from the original BSG well. And I also thought they might be drawing from it last night. They're actually doing a TV movie in the Fall. It's a crazy, pointless, utterly ridiculous look back on a story involving the Pegasus and will not even attempt to move the plot forward.[JiF]KellysHero wrote:This season was pretty tough to watch, but they wrapped it up well and did leave you wanting more. "The whole notion of doing this came from [Universal's] home video [department] wanting to have a DVD release. We were intrigued by it, and then the [SCI FI] Network was in favor of it because then they could put something of Galactica on the air in the fall even though the fourth season won't really kick off until January."
That's right. It's not that they felt like they should do a movie or that this was necessary. Some accountant wanted to have a DVD release so they figured, what the heck, let's do some pointless filler episodes that those sucker fans will eat up!
Amazing. I'm done. Let me know if anything happens next year.

I think the 'twist' they threw in at the end of this season did it for me. 4 people start hearing music, eventually go into a room together, and say 'Frack. We're Cyclons'. Then they go back to work.[JiF]DispDave wrote:Welcome to the club Sly!
What kind of a season ending finale is that? They could have done that 10 episodes ago. There was nothing that triggered it. No explanation. No change in what they do.
And picking 3 of the main reasons the human race still exists (any of the three guys could have given up the plans of the humans during their time in the Iraq Wa.... errr.... on New Caprica) makes even less sense. At least when Boomer went Cylon she did it by trying to off the Admiral to help rid the world of the race that produced this season of crap.
I may stop watching SciFi.

Last post about it. Here's an article interviewing the producer:

This response was hilarious:
Suddenly 'Cylons' don't refer to machines but to living organisms that happen to be constructed rather than born.
Oh and he talks about how the 'music' that Boomer heard and these 4 heard were related to the point in space that they were at.... Except that while it might make a smidgeon of sense for the New Cylons if their other clones projected the music as they got closer to where those clones live it doesn't make any sense with Boomer since the 'normal' Cyclons wouldn't have known where she was going and what position she'd be in (or what action she'd have to take) when they programmed her.

Anyone else read that as... 'Ummm... Woops.' Or this bit:R: Now there are two half-human, half-Cylon babies -- Hera and the Chief and Cally's child. Will you be dealing with that?
RM: Oh, yeah.
I think it's pretty obvious that they don't care how this happened. They're just telling the viewers that these guys are Cylons and then they'll redefine the Cylons in order to make this possible. Now they'll be able to age (unless no one noticed Tigh not aging over the past 30 years), the males and females are capable of conceiving - just not with each other, and they can be major, professional, and well popularized athletes prior to the war without anyone noticing that they don't have parents or a past.R: So Tigh and the others were put into the Colonial fleet as adults?
RM: I don't know if it's that simple. I think it's something that goes back pretty far. A lot of the specifics of the back story of how this came about will reveal itself over the course of the next season. Those four are trying to figure out their own story. They don't really understand what this all means. Tigh's been in two wars and wondering, how could this be? A part of next season's storylines will uncover how they came to be who they are and the specifics of that.
