SLi
SLi
Alright, Im going the SLi route, BUT I forgot if they made SLi supportive of two different video cards. I was under the impression that SLi had recently updated the drivers to accept the two cards but match the highter card to the lower end card, such as that of Crossfire. Is it possible? I want to get a 7950 GT and SLi w/ my 7800 GTX. I sorta wanted a 512 card so I can later sell the GTX and get another GT. Any help is appreciated!

For what its worth though.. I do have a 7800GTX just sitting on my desk here doing nothing.
Can I mix and match graphics cards?
In order to provide optimal symmetric scaling, SLI technology requires the NVIDIA GPUs to match. For example, a GeForce 7800 GTX must be paired with another GeForce 7800 GTX. Likewise, a GeForce 6600 GT must be paired with another GeForce 6600 GT. However, using the latest Release 80 or later graphics drivers, NVIDIA GPUs sold by different manufacturers can be used together in an SLI configuration. For example, a GeForce 7800 GT from vendor ABC can be matched with a GeForce 7800 GT from vendor XYZ.

Riot, I'm not really using it and looking to get rid of it. I could do $110 shipped. I know I have the breakout cables for it (if needed) and I know it should be as high of a clock speed as any of the EVGA ones if you're worried about that. I'm pretty sure this XFX 7800GTX is the highest clocked one they made.
edit- forgot to mention its 256MB

I'm running an 8800GTS here, but seeing as I can max out BF2 on my 24", and its rock solid, I dont think I'll need SLI just yet.[JiF]Stepovich wrote:Single BFG 8800GTS 320mg, factory OC to supplement the
