Firefox opening new pages

Post by [JiF]KellysHero »

There used to be a setting so that when you clicked on a link it would open in the same window instead of opening a new tab or new window, now it seems to be gone in the latest incarnation. Any idea how to get it back?

I am guessing that the PC and MAC version are pretty similar , on the MAC it's under preferences, Tabs.

Try this in about:config

browser. link. open_newwindow

Where to open links that would normally open in a new window

Integer
2: In a new window
3 (default): In a new tab
1 (or anything else): In the current window

The closet we have is the "Options" and it does have a tab for "Tabs", unfortunately the only option we have is "Open in New Window" or "Open in New Tab" Will have to give Dave's suggestion a try next. Weird thing though, on my old system, it had that option. I'm guessing an older version of FF, will have to fire it up and check.
