Bots we don't need no stinkin bots...
I hopped onto the Pot Luck server thinking it might be fun to pick on a few Bots... silly me. The server was overflowing with the living. Jiffer's starting typing the usual friendly Hello! before shooting me. Warhammer, XXX, URWORSTNIGHTMARE and Texas Ranger (along with a few other regulars) said "Hi" and then started blasting in the normal friendly way. A guy from Holland tried to get to know [JiF]Bier (factoid: apparently his name means beer in Dutch, I would have never guessed it in a million years) so Bier politely shot him. Always a good way to make new friends.
I didn't think there were enough of us to do it but we scared the bots right off the server! It was BF1942 - Old School. Got my butt kicked, took it out on Crash (once I got him off the repair pad), all was good.
Actually I think we could raise the tickets on a couple of the maps they just went so fast.
Oh yeah, did I mention? I got my butt kicked and Crash didn't crash even once - although he did spend the night in the wrong TS channel. BTW, some of those non bots are really good and a few of these regulars play in a way that makes the game enjoyable. I didn't have to touch the BF-Remote Manager all night and that's always good. Bot free and stress free! Now if I could only find a way to gum-up Thos' mouse.

It really has evolved into a core of good regulars. I'll have to play a bit more, I stopped when I started playing 2142 in earnest, playing them both was just too confusing:[JiF]ALargeWoodenBadger wrote:I hopped onto the Pot Luck server thinking it might be fun to pick on a few Bots... silly me. Why isn't sprint working? Oops, BF1942!
*SPLAT* - oops, space bar for parachute on 2142, not vanilla!

LOL,
Yea, it's good being back. Once I got all the issues resolved and got to play solid... it's great.
I even played BFV with Dave yestarday. That is such a great game. The tunes, the napalm.
If I have so much fun playin those games, How the heck am I to find time to play "robots 2142"?
I like playing these games based on something. I know it's not reality, but it's history to me.
When I hop in a sherman tank on BFnilla I think of my Grandfather that was in the Battle of the Bulge. When I play BFV I think of my 6th grade english teacher that spent his entire time in nam, start to finish. It's a cool feelin playing where people we know fought for our country.
Playing for me is 50% playing with people I know and 50% Thinking of people I have known..
I'll be on the Nilla server tonight with my grandfather...

These are some of the guys I've noticed playing there on a regular basis. I'm sure Bier knows them better then I do and would be happy to comment on them in the private channel. <hint> I don't feel comfortable enough to make any overtures but from what I've seen they're not a bad lot.[JiF][AARP]Grimp wrote:...Some of those reagulars have been coming for a long time now. The 4 part trilogy? Or are you in the "2142 is just a BF2 expansion" camp?[JiF]rIot wrote:BFV was an AWSOME game, actually, probably one of my favorites out of the trilogy. I wouldnt mind going back to that a little bit![JiF][AARP]Grimp wrote:BFV would be a nice change of pace if I was not under such peer pressure to play 2142

Except for the lack of dead zone support and unfliable helicopters![JiF]rIot wrote:BFV was an AWSOME game, actually, probably one of my favorites out of the trilogy. I suppose I may jump back into BF1942 alittle (I miss desert combat and Forgotten Hope... oh and the stunt server) What I really miss actually is driving the battle ships and blowing the hell out of iwo jima. I miss the naval battles. I don't know why they don't have ships in BF2 or BF2142, even BFV had the river boats which sucked but they were still there. Support class was fun until they messed with weapons. special forces was under rated, I liked it. I never got armory fury or the other one. Bad company is suppose to come out which has a "fully" destructible environment which I'm guessing will suck... mainly because there's probably no naval wessels in it.
