Worthy Upgrade?

is an AM2 X2 5400+ a worthy upgrade from a 4000+, how much of a difference will there be in speed???

Assuming clock speed is the only thing that's different, there is a theoretical 35% increase at peak load based on (1400/4000 * 100%). Is that something you will actually notice or appreciate, maybe. If it takes your computer 1 minute to boot, it may boot 40 seconds instead. Is the 20 seconds really worth the $$$ you'll spend???

You can use the CPU chart below to compare the two processors. But after a quick view it doesn't seem like the bang for the buck is there.
