Router suggestions

I'm looking to replace my router. It's a Belkin, worked fine, but the wireless security is lacking. Any suggestions on a brand and model? I've never really used the wireless aspect of it, but figured it would be good to have (just secured though)

Are you looking for a pure wireless router or do you need LAN connection as well? And any other requirements (family use, travelling, etc.)?

I got a free Fon router (http://www.fon.com) for fun. It's incredibly small and has built in dual use by creating a secure WAN and an open WAN on the same line. You are supposed to leave the open one open so that other Fon members can access your point. The obvious benefit is that you can also access other Fon hotspots. I don't think they have the free deal anymore but it's a pretty good router.

The only drawback is that it doesn't have a hard lan line which means to fully use this I would need to switch my desktop to a wireless card. I'm going to try it but I'm betting it hurts my gaming performance too much to be worth it.

Since you probably have the same requirements I'm betting you're not interested. In which case you should just wait until the new N standard is approved and then buy a new router that can take full advantage of the new spectrum. N is finally going to crack open the ability to transmit HD movies through the air from a Media PC to playback devices. That'll be well worth it.

I've loved my Netgear one. Cheap, reliable, and simple (and does the job w/the built in firewall).
Mine is the wired version cuz I got too many "wireless" things already!!!!
Wired gives you better rates too....

Welp, I just installed a LinkSys RV082 for someone and I like it. No wireless, but it has dual WAN ports, VPN support, QOS, and all kinds of bells and whistles. Pretty sweet little box. It's got a beefier processor than most and is definitely a bit snappier in the web interface. I don't know if that translates into any benefit for gaming, I've never know a faster processor to hurt anything though
