This might work. My wife's parents live in New York city. The tentative plan is that we drive up to NY together on Friday and stay at her parents Friday night. Then she stays in NY while I drive up to the LAN Saturday morning, hopefully getting there by around noon. Then Sunday afternoon I drive back to NY and stay at her parents again, and we drive home together Monday.

It's a good plan for me because it breaks the drive up. I have a bad back and sitting that long in a car is hard for me. The downside for me is that I have to stay with her parents for two nights.

My wife is pondering it. If she doesn't want to go, then I still might come up by myself but it's less likely.

Well, I was hoping to make a surprise visit to finally meet you guys, but it looks like I'm screwed!!

I go back in under the knife the second half of March....

doesn't look like I will have the "guts" now to make it up there....
