Okay, so I finally go to install my new vid card: BFG Geforce 7600GT OC and
figure out it's PCIexpress slot and mine is AGP.
So I'm returning it...and here's my question: should I move up a few models?
Which should I look at?
...and I guess the main question should be, does the AGP limit me too much?
PCI express vs AGP

There is a nice little article over at Tom's Hardware about the latest performance of AGP video cards:

You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

That sucks.
If you're expecting to do a full system upgrade within the next year, I would just hold out with the 9800, if you can. It's not so much that the AGP bus is limiting, it's more a matter of Nvidia and ATI not really seeing the point in continuing to produce AGP video cards since all new systems are PCI-E.
My 6600GT is actually a PCI-E card with a PCI-E to AGP bridge on the card. It's kind of neat really.
Of course now I have an Athlon 64 x2 4200+ with a PCI-E 7900GS, but I did all that upgrading in one shot.
