I was reminded of my old NaNoWriMo threads on this forum, and felt it might be necessary to let the word out that this month is yet again National Novel Writing Month! The objective is to write 50,000 words in 30 days, requiring you to write 1,666 words a day to stay on track. This is my first time participating since 2009, where in that year I don't think I ever got off the ground. My effort in 2007 and 2008 landed me with 6,653 words and around 8,500 words respectively.

I am much more successful for this year's attempt where my current count on Day 11 (11/11/2013) stands at 26,193 words ! (52.4% complete)

Anyone else participating?

Prior year threads:

2009: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3360" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Day 14 and I'm currently at 29,526. I fell behind a bit yesterday (from my intended goal), but I will hopefully catch back up this evening. Aim is for 32,000 before I go to sleep.

Heading towards the end of Day 18 and I'm now at 38,072 words (76.1% complete!)

Oddly enough, with this many words, I actually just started getting into the main plot line only in the past two days. The way this is shaping out, it's looking like it'll take 80,000 to 90,000 words to finish the actual novel.

Day 24 and I've finished the challenge with 50,039 words.. too bad the novel is only 1/2 to 2/3 complete.
