Any opinions on Borderlands 2?
I enjoyed the first Borderlands but never finished the story. From what I read online, BL2 is even better, and there seem to be a bunch of cool looking add-ons (esp. the new Mechromancer class - see below).
Has anyone tried it? Is it a viable option for some fresh online co-op play?

I played it quite a bit. I did get tired of the endless loot though. Constantly trying to figure out what weapon or gear might be better, got annoying lol. The 'sameness' got to me as well. After a while it seemed like I was doing the same things over and over. Go in, kill a bunch of baddies, get new gear, rinse and repeat. I have to admit that I tend to play solo though. Playing with others would likely make it more enjoyable. If you can get it on a sale now it's probably worth it IMO.

Amazon digital has it for $19.99. Maybe I'll wait until a Steam sale, as I'd prefer to have it on that platform.

Ah, what the hell, I splurged on BL2 Game of the Year Edition, which has all the add-ons, using some gift cards that were burning a hole in my wallet.
After I get my bearings in the game again, I'll see if anyone wants to try some co-op.

Wow, this game has a VERY cool intro scene.

I've been hooked on this game since about January. I have reached level 61 on all four of the original characters and I am about ready to add the others. My favorite activity is pinging the helmet off the Goliaths and watch them go nuts. I play with my nephew and my brother and have rather enjoyed this one!

I just hit level 9 with Gaige aka Lil Stinky. Not sure if i'm going to stick with the Mechromancer - having the robot do the killing takes some of the fun away. Setting enemies on fire and shocking them is cool tho.
The game is very well done, and also very well written. I actually laugh out loud sometimes at the things Claptrap and Hammerlock say.
I believe my in-game Steam name is [JiF]Uncle Stinky, if you ever want to do something coop. Can different levels group up?

Yes different levels can but it's a real disadvantage for the weaker one if the gap is a large.
Oh, and I go by wildbill7277.

Yeah, the loot choices do start to get overwhelming. Given that the Mechro class relies a lot on fire and electrical damage, I'm focusing on those kinds of guns, grenades and shields. I'm assuming eventually you get to expand your inventory slots beyond 12?
Re: Any opinions on Borderlands 2?
Yes you can expand, that black market guy sells more slots. Not as many as you might like though. lol

Re: Any opinions on Borderlands 2?
Ah, ok I now have my slots up to 18.
I am enjoying the game so far - the story and writing are among the best I've seen in a RPG. The set of missions related to Firehawk and the fire worshippers are brilliant.
The Mechro has an ability that creates an electrical or fire storm every time you or your killer-bot kill with a crit. Very impressive.
One huge disappointment is that all characters start out in the same area and have to run through the same set of missions. Too bad they didn't use different starting areas, a la WoW.
