Well hopefully that's the last order. Not that I don't still enjoy watching it but it's just becoming a night-time soap-opera. There's nothing related to the fact that they're flying around in space anymore being chased by robots. It's bad doctors, bad marriages, and bad politicians. And next week looks like it's going to be a pseudo Impeach President Baltar-Bush. I'd prefer them to have a 'final season' where they actually, you know, DO INTERESTING THINGS.
When the heck was the last time they blew up a base star? Heck - when was the last time they actually killed a cylon. I'm almost rooting for them to push the cast out the airlock and start up with a new (less boring) group.
As the Battlestar Turns.... puke. They could condense the whole of season 3 thus far into one action-packed episode with no storyline loss.
Screw this soap opera crap! Starbuck & Apollo, Apollo and Dualla, Starbuck and Sam, Sharon and Helo - who the hell cares! Blow something up already. If I wanted to see crap like this I'd watch Desperate Housewives. I hope Mentat's insider tip was right. I could name six people they can kill off right now. Wait, I already did.
Episode 14 (2/11) was even a hospital drama, give me a break. Maybe I should have said 'General Battlestar'. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a hangar bay they converted into a nightclub - not a good sign. Why not just paint it pink with a Teddy Bear and flowers wallpaper strip, stick a crib in it and make it a baby's room!
Sorry for the rant. Just very disappointed here.

I did. It was mostly soap opera stuff again. This time, it was Adama's wedding anniversary and he was reminiscing over an old photo of his wife and hearing her voice in his head. Also there was some more repressed sexual tension between him and Roslin. The main plot line involved Callie and Chief Tyrol getting stuck in a leaking airlock. They were rescued by a Raptor which positioned itself right outside the airlock and caught them when they were blown into space. That part was interesting, but that's about it.
Oh, and there was a scene where the viper pilots were talking about how it had been 49 days since they last had contact with the Cylons. And I was thinking to myself - the writers are pointing out exactly what's wrong with the show!

The airlock/raptor trick was cool but the marriage back fill story and the 'Roselyn and Adama Sitting In A Tree' story was lame. So is the bit about Apollo as a Pilot who really wants to be a Lawyer (Huh? WTH? What Pilot is pissed they're not practicing law?)
Next week looks even worse. This week Adama takes command of the situation to save the Chief and his wife. Next week the Chief leads a worker strike. Good to see the Chief showing some loyalty to the guy who just played a big part saving his life.
So this season on a series about humans being in a war where the entire species is in danger of extinction we've gotten a couple anti-war episodes, approx. two episodes related to the actual plot (unless you include the part of space that they couldn't go around as part of the plot), around 4 or 5 episodes about how tough marriage is, 1 episode about how Adama started the entire war by being a bastage, and next up is an episode about labor laws.
And what do we have to look forward to for the rest of the season? 1 character is apparantly a cylon and there will be an trial that looks to be a cross of Perry Mason and the trial of Saddam Hussein.
If my DVR fills up I think BSG is the first to go.

Back after episode 4 when they did the Galactica Planetside Flop and had that huge battle scene with both battlestars and multiple base ships, I said I was worried that they blew their whole special effects budget on that one episode. Looks like I may have been right. That episode was awesome though.

Perhaps the actors should go on strike as well...[JiF]KellysHero wrote:And this week's episode the crew is going on strike! I wonder if they had their budget cut and they can't do any more special effects? Even the Raptor rescue was a very short sequence.
