BF1942 Free via Origin

I might have missed this thread if someone else posted about this already...sorry. I just wanted to address it though.

1) You can download and play BF1942 for free via Origin. 10th anniversary thing...
2) You can not play with players that have the retail version with the free version.
3) You can not play on retail servers with it.
4) Our server host does not support this "new" version, so I can't convert our server.
5) I noticed a downgrade on the host to fix a crashing error. (v1.61 to v1.6) I wonder if I should install it.

The server has been pretty stable lately.
Some are having client crashes on Win 7

Does the downgrade fix crashing on the Client or Server?

Would we have to downgrade our clients if we downgrade the server?

Thank you, I kept searching for it and it didnt come up. I guess Its actually under demos, who would have thought.

I wish they would let this free version connect with the older servers
