DDO Restart - list your characters
Sounds like some of us are getting back into Dungeons & Dragons Online, starting tonight. If you make a new chracter, post it here so we can add you to the JiF guild. I think you can't join the guild until you get off Korthos Island and can get to mailbox, but at least until then we can you add as a Friend.
FYI - today I made a half-orc female druid named Jifferood. If you're in Korthos and you see a big grey wolf followed by a smaller grey wolf and a large brown rat go by, that's me and my posse.

Re: DDO Restart - list your characters
Hey thats great!
Welcome back!
I didnt stop playing since you started the first time. Now im a veteran player. So if you need advice, help or just plain platinum just ask me.
My toons:
Pyrcador lvl 18 warforged watersavant sorcerer (2nd life, 1st life was the same)
Grooomsh lvl 23 human ranger/fighter/rogue/epic (2nd life, 1st life was pure fighter)
Bulwei lvl 24 human fighter/epic (1st life but started as veteran with 32 buildpoints)
Flamberg lvl 7 warforged barbarian (1st life but started as veteran with 32 buildpoints)
I still got 2 of those XP stones that give a character of lvl 8+ enough xp to get to lvl 16 instantly. But they will only be there until update 15 and as far as i know that will come august 20th. So if you want one say it now or they are gone. ^^

Re: DDO Restart - list your characters
FYI - it appears that the Guild leader (Brilliara - Mike?) has been absent for some time, so I used the "usurp" button to assign leadership to main main character, Jhany.
Mike - if you want it back, let me know, or if anyone else is dying to be Guild leader, also let me know.
Der Hesse and his boys have been playing quite a bit, since the Guild level is now all the way up to 37. I think it was around 16 or so when I left.

Hehe, indeed.
Since the amount of guildpoints gets higher if you do highlevelquests i got some points together.

Re: DDO Restart - list your characters
I´m not as often around as Der Hesse, but i still play once in a while.
It´s great to see, that you all are back again.
My favorite Character is Technarch, a level 16 Warforged Artificer.
I hope to you soon, guys.

Re: DDO Restart - list your characters
I was just thinking the other day about this game. I have to say I'm not real interested in playing again right now, but I wondered about the guild. Glad you could take it over.
Re: DDO Restart - list your characters
Smuckers started and got to 2nd but still on Korthos last night. Phatom, did you get the game running? Do you need help?
Mini and Badger Sr I heard are downloading and going to start playing so maybe the 4 of you can group up and play up to level 4ish together then we can start teaming with you.
and/or if Jimbo/Stinky/Gave/Top want to go back with some new chars to help them get up to our 5/6th level guys that would be great. I can jump on my Druid who's not done with Korthos tonight so jump on TS Phant/Smucks/Badgers and I can guide you through if you want.
6 players can team up as far as I know. Maybe there's a way to do more because it would be great if we got 6+ jiffers playing the same level ranges together!
As Smuckers found out, its a long learning curve and kinda sucks to be new and alone.

PS we are DPS heavy in the melee type chars so I would recommend people playing Rogues/Artificers, Wizards/Sorcerers, and/or Clerics/Favored Souls.
Rogues/Artifcers - you need one in every group to picks locks, find traps, secret doors etc.
Wiz/Sor - for Crowd control and AOE damge(Area of Effect for newbs...think artillery )
Clerics/Favored Souls for healing.
I 1 of each class
We really need everyone to have at least 2 types so you can change chars to what might be needed depending on who's playing that night. I would say have 4(dps, tank, healer, rogue). Artificer is dps/rogue so thats a good one and you could get away with just 3 chars if one was an Artificer(go warforged so you can repair yourself wiht your spells).
Note on tanking. Low levels you can get away with just 1 guy healing and everyone DPSing but we will need a warrior or palading spec'd to TANK and not be DPS. Pallies in DDO are the best tanks because the INTIMIDATE skill is the equivalent from WOW players to understand. Use that skill then hold Shift with a Tower shield while in a doorway(or many tanks surrounding the party since DDO is hard body physics) so you can protect the DPSers(wizards/sorc/rnager/art/rog..)

Re: DDO Restart - list your characters
Been reading that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be going free to play by end of year. That may draw me back in. Especially once the cold weather hits, and my game room is done.

Set Max potential to 5 for now.
Use that to plan your item and its level requirements. Then tell me/Gav/Stinky you want it made and give us the materials. I think I might be the highest in the 3 crafting areas but any of us 3 should be able to make most things low levels will use/need.
If you need to know what the things do go here to middle of the page and on the right side there are links to Armor, Weapons, Jewelry, Clothing etc. It list the name of the shard and what it does:

Re: DDO Restart - list your characters
There are raids that can be played with 12 people. Most of them are high level. The lowest one is Chronoscope at level 6 ( http://ddowiki.com/page/The_Chronoscope" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ). Another middle one and free to play is tempest spine at level 10 ( http://ddowiki.com/page/Tempest%27s_Spine" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ). And then comes on level 12 the famous zawabis Revenge ( http://ddowiki.com/page/Zawabi%27s_Revenge" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ).
The others are of higher level. For details on possible quests/raids per level: http://ddowiki.com/page/Quests_by_level" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I highly recommend the ddo wiki. You can find nearly everything there. I always got it open in the background. Only the new changes for some parts of the mechanics are not complete there, but they will be within some time.
http://cannith.cubicleninja.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is fine for crafting, like Gib said. Especially if you want to craft greensteel after level 14, which is very powerful. If you craft greensteel without it you WILL make faults that can be very expensive. I lost some million platinum because i didnt use it in the beginning of greensteelcrafting.
For any other advice write me in game or here and ill help.
If you need some Platinum write me in game and ill see if i can afford to help you. Some thousand platinum are never a problem.
If you need help from one of my high level characters to get a quest done say so, but dont expect to get any xp then (xp scale down if you have help from a character of higher level).
I still got 2 of those XP-stones until 20.08.2012 ( http://ddowiki.com/page/Stone_of_Experience" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ). Basilisk should still have 5-6 of them.
