I love bubble cars , my brother had a 1958 Messcherschmit similar to this one ...
It was quite a dangerous contraption and he crashed it many times!
Another cool car was this 1958 Heinkel ...
And how about this one, the Brutsch Mopetta, if you really want a head turner!
You can find lots more bubble cars at ...

Funny... those names had immediate associations with me. Interesting to see what those companies were up to after the war. Losing was a real pisser.
Messerschmitt Bf 109
Heinkel He 111

Yes yes, historical sensitivities aside, my main point with that is they went from building beautiful airplanes to making some rather ugly vehicles (sorry Shell).

He he Trog , I'm sure that to many people they are indeed ugly
I agree that the German companies Messerschmit and Heinkel did make some beautiful machines
but these 'ugly' cars are actually based on the cockpits of the aeroplanes.
Anyway I can't resist posting this little beauty
BMW Isetta 250 Just to balance the books as it were , I also love 1959 - 64 Chevvy Impalas , a real work of art
Here's a nice Impala ....

Shell, Those BMW cars were funny because they couldn't reverse but opened at the front - so if you drove up to a wall you couldn't open the door and would have to break a window to get out
