Re: Play The Original Wolfenstein In Your Browser
errr....
when you click the link it takes you to a language selection page that asks if you want North American English or..wait for it...International English???
Now we've done the Americans don't speak proper English thing before but what I want to know is what is International English, surely it is just 'English'

Re: Play The Original Wolfenstein In Your Browser
As Penny from the Big Bang Theory would say "holy crap on a cracker!"
20 years ago. Where has all that time disappeared to?
I remember getting Doom & it came on 2 x 3 1/2" discs & I thought it was fantastic.
Wonder what the younger generation would think of it now, after all the high graphical content they are used to?

Re: Play The Original Wolfenstein In Your Browser
Nice - but that rather appears to be a Flash version of Wolfenstein 3D (ID software) and not of the original Castle Wolfenstein (Muse), which some might still remember from their Apple IIs, Atari 400/800s, C64s...

P.S.: Zouga: That on the first glance strange language selection might rather have something to do with legal limitations for certain countries, I could imagine. For example, when I click the link, I only get the message: "Sorry, your IP address shows you are coming from a country that requires us to block access to this particular site." So I'd deem it possible that one might get slightly different presentations (probably with less or garbled nazi symbols - or none at all...) depending on the different language options.

Brick: No question, I miss you guys, too. Nevertheless I haven't reinstalled BF1942 on my current, also outdated notebook (that replaced my older, even more outdated, broken notebook), yet. Especially as I just recently tried to buy a new, current one - but that plan failed rather miserably. I decided on a Dell Vostro 3550 model (actually two, as my parents also needed a new one - and I thought it would be a good idea to get two identical configurations...), which seemed good enough and nicely priced (being already on sale-out)...
Long story not quite short: The one for my parents is perfectly ok and already in use, while my first exemplar had a couple of minor flaws on the case and one screechy touchpad button. Talked with the dealer, who encouraged me to return it to be exchanged for a flawless, new exemplar. A couple a days later the "new" one arrived, but turned out to be a returned exemplar with broken original seal and several flaws and stains on the case as well as inside - yuck! Talked with the dealer again, the returned the Vostro again to be exchanged again... Another couple a days later the third exemplar arrived and looked fine. However, already whilst unpacking I noticed a slight tinkling noise inside, which would move accordingly, when one tilted the notebook from one side to the other - obviously a loose part inside. *sigh* I even managed to let it drop out after removing the battery (on a lot of notebooks the battery compartment has got a few suitably sized openings to the inside (e.g. around the battery connector)): Obviously a little plastic catch, that's broken off somewhere inside - which might be comparatively unimportant, but just as well might be pretty critical... So I called up the dealer again, who first asked, whether I'd like it exchanded once again or rather my money back. But just when I was about to reply that I was willing to risk another try or two (as I really wanted that model, 'cause it's got a sensible distribution of ports around the case - while most competing models nowadays seem to have a pretty stupid arrangement in that regard...), he interrupted me with something like: "Oops, sorry. Can't exchange that model anymore, 'cause we're completely out of these..." Result: No new notebook for me (for now) - but at least my parents are happy... And of course I'm already eyeing a new, possibly suitable candidate: the new HP ProBook 6570b (in a version with matte/non-glare HD+ screen and fairly decent, midrange ATI graphics), which would seem pretty decent to me all in all...
