Okay, First:[JiF]Thos wrote:mmm, Tricia Helfer in Playboy...
Don't know how...but I have been receiving free Playboy now for almost three years.... as I always said...Tricia Helfer is gorgeous (better than Starbuck or Boomer as in previous threads).... enuff said.
Now, more importantly, just got dig cable and they had the season finale only on it (Eye of Jupiter). I missed the previous 5 episodes.
I'm hoping someone could give me (succintly!) what was the cylon virus and the actual outcome to it? Scifi.com only gave the background not the end results.
What was it and what happened?
Everything else (Starbuck/Apollo, the escaped pilot, etc) dont really care about...I kinda pulled that stuff together myself.
Any help - thanks in advance!!

The virus? Must say it like Checkov, wa... wirus.
An earth satellite was found on a Base Star. YES a satellite from earth... THE Earth. Smacking of Star Trek; The Undiscovered Country, Veeger.... but unlike Kirk and Spock, the Cylons still don't use anti-bacterial soap so they were screwed. Baltar lied to the Cylons and hid his knowledge of the wirus laden satellite, SHOCKING!!! The Cylons spend days watching re-runs of, "As The World Turns" and mock Baltar. They all laugh at him becasue there are no bathrooms on Base Stars.
The satellite had the virus on it, which was something as simple as the common cold (can't remeber exactly - or was that "War of the Worlds"? anywho...) It killed all Cylons it came in contact with. This was revenge by CCM and JOFA for the use of hockey gloves by the original centurions. They now wear "Isotoner", HUGE, OJ fans... going way back. Anyway, Baltar continues to degenerate, bordering on dementia or constipation (the symptoms are sooo similar...) McCaffee still has not posted any wirus warnings. Apparently another bureaucratic trick of Laura Roslin... Fleet Media is her toadie.
The writers of the show, utilizing a novel concept in media manipulation, have dropped the WIRUS subject in pursuit of, in-fleet golden glove fights, and solyent green, er I mean, food shortages. The Cylons now have TIVO.... freeing up lots of time to repeatedly kill themselves as if the resurrection ships were a Disney ride. The Wirus remains a threat.

Two main plot lines:
Baltar being interrogated - The Pres, Adama, and Lt Gaydos all try and get something out of him. Even drugged him with a hullicinogen.
Love Story of Lee & Kara - both struggle to stay in their marriages and decide finally on the answer/direction they will take.
Good enough w/o giving away anything??

Ok, since I've been away for a while, here's my take on Season 3 to date. I thought the first 4 episodes were excellent. I know a lot of people didn't like the political overtones, but since those overtones agreed with my outlook on things, they didn't bother me . And episode 4, where they completed the rescue off the planet, was just incredible. I think it's probably one of the best sci-fi episodes of any series, ever.
But since then, things have been very iffy. I'm intrigued by the mystery of the Cylon plotline with Baltar. But they are giving it to us oh so painfully slow. And while I'm still in love with Starbuck, the whole love quadrangle plotline is quite boring to me. I like her cause she kicks ass, not cause she fraks behind her husband's back. Get her back in the cockpit.
There have been a few things I really like. First of all, the actor who plays Tigh, Michael Hogan, is just incredible. They are lucky to have cast him in that role, since I doubt they knew how good he would be when they first signed him up. Second, I thought the episode with Boxcar (Dixon from Alias) was very well done. Good acting, and a very interesting backstory to add to Adama's intrigue.
Anyway, I'll continue to watch every week I'm sure, even though it's definitely not been as good recently as in the past. But it was so good before that I'm willing to stick with it a long time before I give it up.
