Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
I must admit Geordie I was thinking the same thing myself. BG42 has pretty vehicles and powerful weapons but the gameplay just cannot match EoD.
I'm certainly up for including Sunday for EoD but let's wait and see what others have to say.

Although an avid fan of both, I vote to keep it the same!

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
ok, i delete the old eod files and i install the new (in the folder who the pc will). Restart, try 2 start the game, and nothing. The normal start process doesn´t start.
Did i delete all the old eod maps before? Than was the answer "delete the old eod files and i install the new" not really correct.
Thanks for helping me.
Alfred

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
Hi Alfred,
On my UK PC all of my game mods are here at ....
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods
So I have a folder here named EoD like this ...
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\EoD
Now if I want to install a new EoD mod I must first delete the old EoD folder so that now I only have
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods
Then I must run parts 1 to 3 of the EoD v2.4 clent software installation and it will create a new EoD folder for me so I will then have ...
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\EoD
If you have deleted something else then the game will not work.

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
Hi Alf,
I've upgraded EoD exactly the way Shell described (with different path names, of course). All worked fine - local and on the server.
But as mentioned there are often errors while changing the maps: map changes and BF crashes like me while searching for mines on the battlefield ;-)
One more thing: on my PC BF does not accept a running thunderbird.

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
Hmm , I haven't experienced problems with map changes hcpy , EoD is not a heavy load on a pc in fact far less than say BG.
What op sys are you running , I am running win7 , with bf42 in xp compatibility mode.

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
Hi Shell,
OS is Vista 64 Business. Intel E8400, 8 Gigs Ram, Geforce GTS250. The crashes happens while playing BF, BG, EoD - but randomly, I can't detect a certain pattern.

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
I don't have any personal experience with Vista hcpy but I do seem to recall others saying that they have had problems.
Sometimes Punkbuster can be the problem so it may be a good idea to make sure that you have the latest version available for bf/bg/eod which can be found here ...
downloads.php?view=detail&df_id=9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Other than that I can't think of anything else.

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
Hi Shell, thx for your help.
If i will read it clear, i had no problems, i think.
The reason was:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods
So I have a folder here named EoD like this ...
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\EoD"
Don´t know how ecactly my folder´s name was, but definitely he had another- longer - name.
And if i "killed" all old eod folders BG was running. First step, pc runs normal. Good. Than EOD new installed (in the correct folder) and "bulls eye"
Friday: you could coming!

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
I thought the one I downloaded was V 2.4.
I play in the Whiskey Server and the hslan when JiF is doing Battlegroup 42.

I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.

Re: EoD V2.4 Upgrade
Yes Warhawk , we are at EoD V2.4 and you must be also because you play EoD on the JiF server.
