Does anyone know of somewhere where I can find a laptop that can run programs such as Solid Works and Pro/Engineer for under $800???

I picked up a decent IBM thinkpad on Ebay not too long
ago for my wife for under $300- all I had to do was
install OS.
It's been great since buying it.

Just an idea ;)

Whats a laptop like that have for RAM. I need at least 1 gig. I was looking into some laptops at Best Buy (which I know is the last place to go to) and was checking out some laptops that has the 6150 go in it. I just didn't know if something like that would be ideal for rendering or not.

Opinions on this one? Will this video card handle the damands of rendering software?

I was just actually talking to one my friends about this the other day. He's a Fire Protection Engineer and was thinking about getting a laptop but he wanted to run Solidworks on it and such. You're probably going to need a pretty beefy laptop to do it and I don't think <$800 will cut it. But I can honestly say that I never ran it on a laptop so I can't really give performance comparisons either but the bulk of Solidworks and your budget don't match up too much in my mind. It'll probably run but just not as well as it would on a lab of course.
