It would be really good if they could get them home & flying again.
It is a fabulous sight & sound when a Spit passes overhead.

I wonder if they would let me have one to put in my yard. I could sit in it and make engine and machine gun noises.
It would be fun I can hear my wife telling people I am in the back yard playing in my spitfire
Let's hope they get them out and they are in good shape.

I read about David Cameron asking for permission to dig these up and take them home. by all accounts they were buried in their original packaging all greased and oiled and have been undisturbed.
Grimp, there was a guy in London years back when I lived there who had a Spitfire on the roof of his house.
A Centurion Tank in his front garden a 14ft Marlin
a 30ft mock up of a rocket (Polaris I think)
a smaller french tank
and various other 'sculptures'
The best of was that it was a sleepy little terrace in a purely residential area, you could see the spitfire from the top deck of the bus I used to get to school.
I searched but couldn't find any photos but I do remember seeing them in the paper as a youngster
here is a newspaper report about his battles with the local council

Cool story, hopefully Burma will let them out of the country.
