Chevy Volt
Chevy Volt
On Friday I picked up a brand spankin new Chevy Volt. It's a geeks dream car! This thing is loaded with so much tech it's jaw dropping.
If you're in the market for a new car go give one of these a try! The lease deals they have going on til the end of April are great. I am paying a little more than I pay for my Camry, and the Volt costs a lot more!
Now I don't really care what gas prices do, which is the best feature!

Re: Chevy Volt
Boy wouldn't I love one of those and it's redish!
I have been looking for a car but the hybrids and electrics are out of my range.
I go too many miles to lease Unfortunately I don't think the math works out for gas savings vs cost yet for them either. I could be wrong.
Does it play BF3?

Re: Chevy Volt
I'm not saving money overall lol. I'm also not paying much more. I'm sure prices will come down on these cars. As people discover them, more and more will be sold. They had record sales last month and that trend is continuing. Everyone that has taken a look at mine, now wants one! If they priced it like a Camry, I don't think they could keep them in stock. The car is great, the price, not so much! My father figured we got about $12.5k off the price after incentives and rebates. It's a lease yes, but sale price still has a lot to do with it.
I've gone almost 200 miles and used less than a gallon of gas. As of this morning charging has cost me about $5.

Re: Chevy Volt
I actually have been trying to convince my wife we should get a Soul. The commercials are not helping me.
I kinda wanted a Prius, but the Soul came in second because of price
She has comments every time I bring it up:
1st, HA HA HA!
2nd, You have got to be kidding!
3rd, I wouldn't be caught dead in that!
4th, What is wrong with you!
5th, It looks stupid!
6th, You are old and acting old!
7th, What is the point of lights on the speakers? It's dumb!
8th, Don't you have something to be doing?
I think she is coming around. What do you thing?

See Grimp's followup post above, then you'll understand the reference.[JiF]zougathefist wrote:Kelly - that is pretty random even for this forum!!

Chevy Volt Charging
That's awesome. Nice to own/lease something that isn't a piece of crap. I'm still stuck with my Mercury Sable for another year, though it's running like junk right now.
I'm not 100% certain of this, but I think if you have a 3-phase charging circuit installed in your home, that this will save you money for charging the car.

I know we use it in my Uncle's Garage for certain machines that can't work with single-phase circuits.
