System: BF3 freezer. Brrrrrrr

Post by [JiF]Melon Farmer »

I'm running a quad core processor, (4 x 2.4G), a radeon 6850 video card, 8 G of ram on windows 7 32bit. I'm going to put in a second HD and install windows 7 64 bit today. If anyone sees any glaring errors with my system, please let me know. I only last on the server for about a minute or so before the screen freezes. HELP!

Have you been here to see what it says about your system and BF3?

Good luck,

what type of sound card do you have. Reading some forums and people appear to have some issues with realtek onboard sound cards..

I have also read in some forums that 64 bit is better

Indeed! Of course I have Realtek onboard sound, lol. I'll slap in a sound blaster and disable the Realtek and give it a try......

May want to go to Windows 7 64 bit. Everything else looks good. I'm running a system pretty close to yours.
You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

PhantomX, disabling Realtek helped a bunch! I'm installing 64bit windows7 on an empty HD. Gonna try it with a new sound card and 64 bit setup. Thanx to Cow and Kelly as well.

Ran out of time last night before I could try the 64 bit install. Aargh. So close........
