JiF Server

Post by [JiF][AARP]Tissueman »

Have we tried seeding the JiF server to see if we can get it populated? It would be nice to have a regular home. If I can get on earlier tonight I will see if anyone shows up.

there appears to be a PB issue with the latest "tiny" client side patch that was deployed today. I have applied the temporary work around which is basically just turning off PB kicking. PB is still active though and PBBans is still streaming.

I have to work early tomorrow morning, so I don't think I will be able to join ;(

Gib, I figured you probably had tried this. Well it will either work or it won't. See you tonight.

Phantom, sigh. You'd think they could handle the 'small stuff'.

Thanks for taking care of it.

I think this will require a bit of planning. Perhaps we can pick a night when we know we'll have a group playing and start on the JiF server. Anyone want to suggest a good night?

Six of us moved to the JiF server last night and never really got it populated. Of course we started a little later in the evening - maybe 9 EST. Who knows if it would have worked if we started at 7. I'm game to try tonight if anyone wants to take a shot at it.

It was fun to play JiF against JiF, but the map was kind of big for six people. After we left JiF we tried another server. I got auto-swtiched to the other team while Gav, Phantomx and Smuckers wreaked havoc on me. My side was losing so the numbers never let me switch over to join them. It reminded me of old times when we always had JiF'ers on both sides playing BF42. I guess I haven't learned much since then as I still attack tanks with whatever I have available even when I know I'm going to die. One of my favorite memories was tying up a tank on DC for over five minutes with my pistol. The guy kept looking for me. Every time he started to leave I'd plink him with my pistol. He never did get me and my side won the map. Ah, good times.

Now that I have my new computer I need to re-install BF42 and BG42. I wonder what they wil be like after so much time on BF3.

By the way, if youve never tried BG42, I highly recommend it. Lots of cool new planes and vehicles, of all nationalities.

You'll be doing a lot of walking. I tried BF42 after playing BFBC2 for a long time and it was near impossible to not press the shift key all the time. I would every so often press it thinkin' I was going to burn rubber but end up just going for a leisurely stroll.
