This show is campy and silly. Nonetheless, I watch it every week like the rest of America. I'm intrigued even though I know how silly it is. The plotline of the dual personality lady completely bores me. The brother who absorbs people's powers needs a serious, serious haircut. But I love Hiro! How could anyone not love Hiro? I see bunch of posts in this thread comparing the show to X-Men. But I say it's a total ripoff of Lost. Just add mystery on top of mystery, without ever really explaining anything. And run ads constantly saying how next week's show starts giving some answers.

Ok I'm off to go watch tonight's episode. It's been on for 25 minutes, so that should be enough time for me to be able to fast forward through all the commercials. Then I'll watch 24. Good thing my new Verizon FIOS DVR is dual tuner!

They repeat Heroes on SciFi during the week, so you can catch it again.

Except for the yellow spandex, Heroes is a rip-off of X-Men. Come on, genetically different, ie mutated, humans with special powers. Granted they have yet to form "The Group". And yes it does follow the story telling aspects of "Lost", which is pretty frustrating at times. At least they haven't pulled the 1-2 new episodes, followed by 1-2 reruns routine Lost did a couple of seasons ago.

yeah, I suppose you could say its a lot like X-Men, but I guess the premiss is that everyone stays ordinary and doesn't really train together and wait for something to go wrong and fix. What they are meant to do they already know, yet they dont know how to go about doing it. Im still waiting for someone to come along with laser eyes though....

i missed it this week. see it on sci-fi. I get the premise of why the guy keeps seeing himself blow-up though... in the dreams it shows all the heroes around him.. now he absorbs powers sorta like Rogue but just has to be near them. He is near like 10 heroes... I'm guessing all the powers would mix inside him and create an unstable reaction. I'm still trying to figure out if the cheerleader's stepdad is a bad guy or just trying to do what he thinks is for the best.

I don't think it's him absorbing all the other Heroes powers around him, but him just absorbing the one guy who can generate radiation. He was shown in this weeks or last weeks episode out in a shack in Nevada trying to create fireballs in his hands (aka Pyro). It was at night and you could see the bright flashes in the shack. He was also being tracked by the FBI (and the wanna be Prof. X cop) for accidentally torching a few houses he lived in and he also was the reason his wife got radiation sickness (Pyro's wife). The cop and the FBI chick confronted him in the hospital, and he burned a nurse' arms by grabbing her. The Prof X Cop then read Pyro's wifes thoughts, she said she loved him and forgave him, blah blah, blah. He calmed down and didn't go supernova, but eventually escaped from custody to Nevada.

They refered to him as a sponge though, and when the guy in the glasses asked what would happen if he absorbed too many powers, Mohinder was like "something very bad could happen" or sumthin, which is why I think he gets overloaded w/ powers and explodes. Although they did bring up Peter not being able to control his abilities, so that woulld elad me to believe that he absorbs the radiation power, he wont be able to control it so he explodes....it leaves you thinking....I dont like to think

When they made you think last night that he flew out the window to get away from his brother, I was wondering how that was possible. He only seems to absorb powers when he's within a few feet of the other hero. So once he flew away from his brother, he'd lose the flying power and plummet to the ground. But as it turns out, he absorbed a different power to get away. . .

Anyway my take is that the nuclear blast is caused by him absorbing radioactive man's power and not being able to control it, not by him being overloaded by other people's powers. But that's just a guess.

One interesting thing - it seems that both radioactive man and mother-of-cheerleader have the ability to generate fire in their hands. I suspect mom's is just pure fire, while the other guy's is a small (very small) nuclear blast.
