Computer death in the family

Post by [JiF]LtWaterboy »

Well,

I just had a crushing loss this morning... ;(

One of my Nvidia GeForce 8800 Ultra vid cards gave out on me.
Currently working off of his twin only, with no SLI.... :(

Funny how computers work. the system turns exactly 4 years old on Tues which was the max warranty Dell offered back then.
With that going out and replacing the HHD's that were failing, I still believe in conspiracy theories that there is a "built in" timer they installed that fries your system at the end of the warranty to make you replace stuff....

Well, silver lining - at least the interior of my case is now spotless 9dust bunny free) and much more light & "airy"!!! ;D

I feel your pain. One so young, so full of life, so much rendering yet unrendered. :(

Still under warranty though, so good to go. Heck, they may have to send you two new gpu's as the newer replacement may not work with the older ones.
You've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
