Which is worse?

I was over hearing a conversation between a couple coworkers and they were talking about the military and such. I heard one guy say that the Coast Guard has the hardest and more rigorous training then that of even the marines. Now I know that we have some JiFfers that have experienced being in the Coast Guard, so it begs the question, is it true? Does the Coast Guard demand more physical stress in bootcamp then that of the marines, army, etc.?

Absolutely

Well I went in a long long long time ago. My understanding of boot camp order is this. 1 being hardest.

1. Marines
2. Coast Guard
3. Army
4. Navy
5. Air Force They actually call it basic trainning so what can you expect

This is only boot camp. I am sure all forces have specialty classes that are way way way harder than boot camp/basic trainning.
I am probably wrong, as I would think that physically the Army should be harder than the Coast Guard.

Interesting, I didnt know there was only one place for Coast Guard training, I would have thought that there would be more...

Ya, not that big of a service.
I read a couple of those web sites and things have changed.
We use to have to qualify with M-16s I guess only pistols now.
We definately had a punishment company. It was called red belts. They all had on red belts. A very bad place to be.
In fact us other boots could not even look at them without getting in major trouble.

I remember one night a big fuss got us all up. We looked out and a helicopter was hovering over the ocean near shore.
One guy had lost it and ran away into the ocean

I assume he was okay, but I never really found out.

Being in the Army a few years ago (and being one of 6 in my immediate family in all the armed forces branches except CG!), I would agree with Grimp's assessment.

Only thing I would question thou:

For the Air Force, I thought it was called 13th grade??

Yes,

I was called back up to active duty for Desert Storm, when I went to reserve status.
